HI6850-CMFC Controller for Precise Continuous Feeding
Hardy Process Solutions recently introduced a new addition to its product portfolio—the HI6850-CMFC (Continuous Material Feed Controller). This device is primarily designed for smooth and precise material dosing in industrial applications. Whether you’re retrofitting older volumetric feeders or replacing outdated controllers (such as the HI4060) in gravimetric systems, the HI6850-CMFC offers a reliable solution for various types of feeders (screw, vibrating, and belt).
Thanks to advanced technologies and high performance, this controller promises stable processes, minimized waste, and easy integration, making it a key component for modernizing both existing and new dosing lines.
Key Features and Technical Specifications
- Powerful Hardware: At the heart of the device is a dual-core processor, which ensures much faster data processing compared to previous generations. This is critical for immediate, real-time flow rate corrections.
- Calibration and Accuracy: The controller features a five-point automatic rate calibration function. This allows the device to self-adjust to the specific feeder and the material being fed, achieving high accuracy across a wide range of feeding speeds.
- Patented Hardy Technologies: WAVERSAVER® reliably eliminates mechanical vibrations from the surrounding environment. C2® (Electronic Calibration) allows for the electronic calibration of load cells without the need for physical test weights. INTEGRATED TECHNICIAN® (IT) provides detailed diagnostics of the entire weighing system directly from the panel or via the web interface.
- Connectivity and Communication: The HI6850 is equipped with two Ethernet ports for easy daisy-chain topology integration. In addition to native EtherNet/IP support for Rockwell Automation systems (primarily CompactLogix and ControlLogix), it offers an optional communication card for PROFINET (-PFNC) and an integrated web server.
- Scalability (Multiple Feeder Control): The device can operate either as a standalone unit or as a primary controller managing multiple connected secondary units, which simplifies the overall architecture of the lines.
- Hardware Variants and I/O: Versions are available with a 7" color touch panel or as a DIN rail module (without a display). It supports both 110-240V AC and 24V DC power and offers expansion cards for digital and analog I/O.
